Detailed description
The DAMADE foot pump is a classic piece of equipment for converted vehicles. Its main advantage is its total independence from electricity. It's the perfect solution if you want a minimalist, reliable water system with no electricity consumption.
It is generally installed on the floor, close to the sink or washbasin. On one side you connect it to your water supply (jerrycan, flexible or rigid tank) and on the other to a simple spout (tap with no open/close control). Pumping with your foot makes the water flow; as soon as you stop pumping, the water stops.
Installation and operating instructions
- Secure the pump to the floor using 3 x 5 x 20 mm screws (not included).
- Make sure that the pump is not tilted more than 20° for optimum operation.
- Use 10 mm ID armoured hose for the inlet and outlet connections. Secure connections with hose clips (sold separately).
- This pump is ideal for use with a single spout (without valve), as it is the pumping action that controls the flow of water.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- What is the flow rate of this pump?
-
The flow rate is approximately 3.5 litres per minute when actively pumping.
- Does it require electricity to operate?
-
No, this pump is entirely mechanical and requires no electricity.
- What type of tap should I use with this pump?
-
We recommend using a simple spout (a tap without a switch or valve). The water only flows when you activate the pump with your foot.
- What diameter hose should I use?
-
The pump is designed for flexible hoses (preferably armoured) with an internal diameter of 10 mm.
- How is the pump fitted?
-
It is screwed directly to the floor using 3 screws (not supplied). It is advisable not to exceed an incline of 20°.
- Is the pump noisy?
-
No, operation is generally silent, with the main sound being the water and the slight mechanical movement of the pedal.
- Can you pump hot water?
-
These pumps are mainly designed for cold water. Use with hot water could damage the diaphragm or shorten its life. It is preferable to use it only for cold water or water at room temperature.
- Is the pump self-priming?
-
Yes, foot pumps are generally self-priming over short vertical distances (typically from a jerry can placed on the ground next to the pump).
