BRASS Y-CONNECTOR: a smooth split for your water circuit

Joining two water pipes into one, or splitting a line without creating too sharp an angle: that is the purpose of this Y-connector. Unlike a T-connector which branches off perpendicularly, its Y configuration guides the flow at a more gradual angle, reducing turbulence and friction points in the hose.

Made from brass, this connector offers good durability against mechanical stress and temperature fluctuations that a plastic model handles less well. It is particularly recommended for sections of pipework subject to repeated vibrations, or located near a heat source such as a water heater outlet.

Its three barbed fittings accept flexible hose directly: insert each end then lock the connection with a hose clamp. The Y shape also makes it easier to route the hose in areas where bending space is limited — often a real challenge when fitting out a van.

This connector is suitable for both a clean water circuit and a grey water drainage system, to combine the supply from two water points or branch a line towards an ancillary piece of equipment (expansion vessel, filter). How to install the brass Y-connector?

No drilling required: cut your flexible hose at the desired point, then push each section onto one of the three barbed fittings of the connector. Use a hose suitable for 10 mm diameter and secure each joint with a hose clamp for a watertight connection.
