How to install your armaflex af 19 mm insulation?

Installing your armaflex af 19mm insulation alone and quickly is possible! The af armaflex 19mm self-adhesive insulating roll was designed to make your work easier! Discover with Heode the essential tools and the installation process.

Armaflex insulation installation toolbox:

Before starting the insulation, our Heode expert fitters invite you to get:

• Work light
• Würth Tape Measure
• White chalk or Permanent white marker (To visualise your markings for future cuts more easily.)
• Würth Disposable Gloves (optional)
• Clean cloth or professional paper towels (Necessary for applying armaflex cleaner.)
• Cleaner 1L Armaflex (Remember to wear a mask to avoid inhaling the fumes released by this cleaning product. We strongly recommend applying armaflex cleaner to your van's sheet metal outdoors. It can also be used to clean your tools after use.)
• Würth Cutter or Armaflex Cutting Knife Kit
• Armaflex af rolls of the thickness of your choice depending on the surface to be covered: ceiling, side walls, floor
• Armaflex af adhesive insulating tape(s) 15m (This product is also available in 30m. To be used for joints.)

Step 1:

A good clean of all the vehicle's interior sheet metal using armaflex cleaner 1L product. This step should not be neglected, it ensures the durability of the self-adhesive armaflex roll over time and provides high-performance insulation.

Step 2:

Simply: measure; mark; cut; remove from a corner the translucent film that protects the powerful adhesive. Then carefully apply pieces of the af armaflex 19mm roll to all the sheet metal parts of your vehicle that you wish to insulate. The vast majority of reinforcements can be insulated, as the sheet metal is accessible behind the reinforcements. For those that are not accessible, we recommend insulating them by stuffing them with armaflex flakes.

Once properly installed, the adhesive armaflex offers a quality solution with impressive long-term durability.

Step 3:

It will also be necessary to use armaflex af adhesive tape in 15m or 30m rolls to make all the joints. The latter completes the sealing of your insulation. For example, for the insulation of an L1H1 vehicle, our fitters only used one armaflex af adhesive tape roll of 15m in addition to 2 rolls of af armaflex 19mm. The number of adhesive tapes to plan will depend on your technique for installing the armaflex roll insulation in your vehicle.

Armaflex ACE or Armaflex Accoflex

Armaflex ace, sometimes called armaflex accoflex, is a flexible insulation suitable for outdoor applications based on copolymer and polyolefin. It is particularly used for pipe protection. It does not possess the technological properties of armaflex af and may contain particles harmful to health.

Entry-level Armaflex XG or Armaflex ACE Plus

Armaflex xg is presented as the entry-level flexible insulation in Elastomeric foam. But unlike the “premium” foam of armaflex af, it does not contain Microban® antibacterial protection or the latest high-performance insulation technologies. The closed cells of armaflex xg are finer than those of armaflex af. Moreover, armaflex xg does not hold the EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) label unlike its big brother armaflex af.
