Autoterm diesel heating kit for VW Crafter (from 2017): keeping the new generation warm too

This Autoterm Air 2D kit has been specifically developed for the Crafter from 2017, with a dedicated fuel tap and a mounting bracket adapted to this new generation.

The external under-chassis mounting is the chosen solution: the stainless steel mounting box protects the heating unit from road spray, and no interior space is used. Warm air rises via a 60 mm duct to the outlet grilles inside the van. The Autoterm Air 2D delivers up to 2 kW for a volume of up to 20 m³, with a fuel consumption of 0.10 to 0.24 L/h of diesel. Its brushless motor and silent pump ensure quiet operation, and its oxygen sensors allow it to automatically adapt to altitude up to 4,200 m. The Comfort Control panel, supplied with its extension cable, allows the temperature to be adjusted from inside the cab.

This kit is designed for the L1H1 and L2H2 versions of the Crafter after 2017 12 V. Certified E2-10R and E2-122R, VASP compatible. 2-year warranty, extendable to 3 years with installation by an Autoterm-approved professional.

How do I install the heating kit on a VW Crafter 2017+?

The stainless steel mounting box bolts under the Crafter chassis. The dedicated fuel tap kit connects directly to the original tank without drilling. The electrical cables connect to the battery or the fit-out battery bank, and the duct passes through the floor to distribute warm air inside the cab. The kit is designed for L1H1 and L2H2 versions; for 4Motion versions, an adjustment to the bracket may be required.

A heating kit compatible with VASP certification

The Autoterm Air 2D is certified E2-10R and E2-122R, in compliance with the VASP certification requirements for autonomous heaters fitted in a converted vehicle. The certificates are provided by Autoterm and must be handed to the inspector at the time of the approval inspection.
