How can I protect the exposed layers of sprayed cork in my van?

Oléofuge is an aqueous solution that is colourless when dry and non-film-forming. In other words, it does not alter the appearance of the cork coating. It's practical because it waterproofs (protects against water damage) your cork coating sprayed onto the sides, ceiling and floor of your converted vehicle once dry.

This treatment also protects against atmospheric aggression and fights cracks caused by the freeze/thaw cycle. What's more, Oléofuge prevents variations in colour caused by dampness on sprayed cork coating.

In short, an Oléofuge treatment repels the infiltration of substances and residues of all kinds! Don't worry, it retains the water vapour permeability of the natural cork coating.

In other words, this solution protects the sprayed cork from infiltration and dirt in the interior of your converted van.

How do you spray Oléofuge on sprayed cork?

Before any Oil Repellent treatment, make sure that your sprayed cork coating is completely dry inside your van. All surfaces covered by the sprayed cork must be dry, sound and free of dirt.

Next, prepare a mixture by diluting 1 part Oléofuge in 2 to 3 parts water. Once mixed, spray this aqueous solution with a plastering gun onto the surfaces covered with Soliege natural cork plaster. It is advisable and preferable to carry out a preliminary test on a section of the surface to be treated.

This water-based treatment solution should be sprayed at temperatures between 5° and 35°.

Note that optimum performance of the Oil Repellent will only be obtained if a sufficient and recommended quantity is sprayed.
