Choosing Métisse RT to insulate your L2H2 is a committed gesture not only for the planet, but also for the French social and solidarity economy.

That's why we also use it in our L2H2 Armaflex and Métisse RT mixed kit, a revised version of the L2H2 Armaflex and Biofib mixed kit.

It's made from recycled textile fibres (minimum 70% cotton!) as well as 15% polyester binder. With Métisse RT, your old clothes continue to keep you warm in a different way!

Does the idea of insulating your van yourself intimidate you? This kit makes the task accessible to anyone. Yes, even if you have no experience! And for a very simple reason: we've calculated the quantities needed for an L2H2 for you and chosen products that are particularly easy to install. We've even included a small margin to deal with the unexpected!

For Métisse RT, we've indeed chosen the panel version, which is easier to handle than rolls. What's more, using panels also reduces the number of cuts!

Flexible and lightweight, it cuts effortlessly with simply smooth or serrated blade knives. The bonus? No toxic emissions (rated A+ for VOCs) for safe installation for your health. And above all, it doesn't itch! Installation comfort that makes all the difference.

To guarantee perfect adhesion of your insulation, thorough surface preparation is essential. The first step therefore consists of thoroughly degreasing and cleaning the metal sheet of your van using Armaflex Cleaner. Developed by Armacell (the creator of the famous Armaflex), this effective product is more environmentally friendly as it's formulated without solvents or antifreeze. It will eliminate traces of grease, rust and other dirt to ensure a clean base, ready to be insulated.

For perfect adhesion, a spray contact adhesive is included.

After laying the panels edge to edge, don't forget the vapour retarder (included). It protects your installation from moisture and ensures its longevity.

FAQ: Your questions, our answers!

Can Métisse RT be installed over sprayed cork?

Yes, absolutely! Métisse RT complements sprayed cork very well. These two materials can be combined for optimal insulation. Sprayed cork offers a first thermal and anti-condensation barrier. Métisse RT improves thermal and acoustic insulation. Ensure that the sprayed cork is smooth. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before laying Métisse RT.

Is a vapour retarder essential with Métisse RT? Why not a vapour barrier?

Yes, the vapour retarder is crucial with Métisse RT. This is true for most fibrous insulation. Métisse RT is breathable: it allows water vapour to pass through. The vapour retarder regulates this passage. It prevents condensation in the insulation and on the metal sheet. This prevents insulation degradation and corrosion.

Can I opt for a vapour barrier instead of a vapour retarder?

A vapour barrier is completely impermeable to water vapour. In a van, temperature and humidity variations are frequent. A vapour barrier could trap moisture in the structure of the Métisse RT. This would be counterproductive. The vapour retarder, on the other hand, has controlled permeability (hygrovariable). It allows any moisture to escape from the insulation. Whilst limiting moisture ingress from inside the van. It's the best solution for healthy, long-lasting insulation. Especially with a natural fibre insulation like Métisse RT.

Is this eco-friendly insulation kit suitable for my large van?

The quantities in this kit are calculated for large vans (L2H2). Think Renault Trafic/Master L2H2, Peugeot Expert/Boxer L2H2. It's also suitable for Citroën Jumpy/Jumper L2H2, Ford Transit Custom L2H2, Opel Vivaro/Movano L2H2, Fiat Ducato L2H2 and similar models.
