At 32 mm, it is the thickest insulation in the range — over 3 cm of closed-cell elastomer designed for extreme cold, Nordic winters and year-round van life. Its thickness also helps noticeably reduce outside noise, making the interior a little quieter. Why choose Armaflex Chez Moi 32 mm?
When thermal comfort really leaves no room for compromise, 32 mm is the thickest option in the range. It is for the most demanding projects: harsh winters, extended stays at altitude, Nordic countries or year-round life in the van, through every season.
An acoustic bonus
Its thickness also helps reduce outside noise — traffic, heavy rain and wind. That makes a difference to peace and quiet when parked and to everyday acoustic comfort. Certified for temperatures from -50 °C to +85 °C, it covers every destination you could envisage.
32 mm or two layers of 19 mm?
One option to consider: a 25 mm layer plus a 19 mm layer (44 mm in total) can provide more insulation than 32 mm alone for a similar budget. Installing 32 mm in a single layer is still quicker, especially on curved surfaces where layering two sheets is trickier.
Which areas of your van is it for?
Armaflex Chez Moi 32 mm is designed for large, flat surfaces — side walls, ceiling and rear doors — where space allows and you want to maximise insulation:
- Side walls — the main area to insulate for extreme-cold projects
- Ceiling — remember to add mechanical fixings every 500 mm to hold the extra weight securely over time
- Rear doors — often the area most exposed to temperature fluctuations
💡 At this thickness, make sure you fit your battens and structural supports before the insulation — never over it. Compressed 32 mm Armaflex quickly loses its effectiveness.
Step-by-step installation guide

Fit all structural supports beforehandFit battens, rails and permanent supports before the insulation. At 32 mm, a crushed cell cannot be restored.

Degrease the metal panel with Cleaner ArmaflexAvoid acetone and white spirit — adhesive will not hold as well over time on a poorly prepared metal panel.

Cut with fresh blades (allow an extra 5 mm)For 32 mm insulation, change the blade every 2 to 3 cuts. A blunt blade tears and distorts the material, costing you the precision needed for snug joints.

Check the fit before sticking, with the backing film still in placeAt this thickness, installation is permanent once the backing film is removed. Take time to check each cut before sticking it down.

Seal the joints with Tape Armaflex ChezMoiAn unsealed joint, even just a few millimetres wide, can create a condensation spot that eventually damages the metal panel.
🎵 Acoustic option: install theArmaComfort Barrier B 2 mm directly onto the metal panel before the 32 mm for a little more sound reduction.

Familiar with Armaflex AF? Chez Moi is its direct successor, designed exclusively for vans since April 2026. In short: the same technology, with a slightly revised formula.

Armaflex Chez Moi 32 mm or two layers of 19 mm?
Both work. Combining 25 mm + 19 mm (44 mm) can provide more insulation than 32 mm for a similar budget. A single layer of 32 mm remains easier to install, especially on curves.
Does the 32 mm improve acoustics?
Yes, its thickness helps noticeably reduce traffic, rain and wind noise. To go further, combine it with ArmaComfort Barrier B 2 mm, applied to the metal panel first.
Do I need an additional vapour barrier?
No. The closed cells stop moisture from migrating through the material in the first place.
Does Armaflex Chez Moi replace AF?
Yes, since April 2026. The same technology, with a formula revised for vans. Both will be available until the end of 2026, when AF is discontinued.
