Fibreglass panel for Mercedes Sprinter left-hand rear hinged door

It's possible to fit your van with an opaque fibreglass panel!

This black fibreglass panel is specifically designed to be fitted to the left-hand rear swing door of your Mercedes Sprinter. Completely opaque, it includes an opening for fitting a 457 x 382 mm left-hand sliding window with flyscreen(product sold separately on our site).

How do you fit a fibreglass panel to your van?

Step 1: Cut out the sheet metal of your van to accommodate your fibreglass panel on the left-hand hinged door.

Step 2: ApplyFrameto Anti-Rust to the perimeter of the opening to prevent rust. Allow to dry, then install a 6 to 8 mm reinforced gasket for double sheet metal, essential to protect the edge of the sheet, which can be sharp, and obtain a professional finish.

Step 3: Cleanly apply a bead of mastic adhesive (shown as a solid yellow line in the image below) around the inside of the fibreglass panel.

Step 4: Place the fibreglass panel directly on the sheet metal of your van in the space provided. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a dry, sheltered place.

Step 5: Using the professional mastic adhesive kit, install the 457 x 382 mm left-hand sliding window with flyscreen in the opening in the centre of the fibreglass panel. Be careful not to apply sealant to the window's rainwater outlets. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a sheltered, dry place.

Step 6 (optional): Once everything is in place, create a wooden casing over which felt covering can be laid for an optimum interior finish!
