Double fibreglass panels for Mercedes Sprinter hinged doors - Since 2018

It's possible to fit your van with a pair of opaque fibreglass panels!

These black fibreglass panels are specifically designed to be fitted to the rear hinged doors(left + right) of your Mercedes Sprinter. Completely opaque, they each have an opening for a 457 x 382 mm sliding window with flyscreen.

How do you fit fibreglass panels to your van?

Step 1: Cut the sheet metal of your van to allow for the installation of your fibreglass panels on your hinged doors(left + right).

Step 2: ApplyFrameto Anti-Rust to the perimeter of the 2 openings for preventive treatment. Leave to dry, then install a 6 to 8 mm reinforced gasket for double sheet metal, essential for protecting the edge of the sheet, which can be sharp, and obtaining a professional finish.

Step 3: Cleanly apply a bead of mastic adhesive (represented by a solid yellow line in the image below) around the inside of each fibreglass panel. For information: 1 professional mastic-glue kit is normally enough to make 1 bead on each of the 2 panels.

Step 4: Place the fibreglass panels directly on the sheet metal of your van, each in its respective position. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a dry, sheltered place.

Step 5: Using a professional mastic-glue kit, install a 457 x 382 mm sliding window with mosquito netting in the opening in the centre of each fibreglass panel. You will need 2 professional glue kits, 1 for each window. Be careful not to apply sealant to the window rainwater outlets. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a sheltered, dry place.

Step 6 (optional): Once all the panels have been installed, create 2 wooden trims on which felt lining can be laid for an optimum interior finish!
