Roof light fixing kit: the complete solution for a perfect seal

Installing a roof opening is often a stressful step when fitting out your van, as the slightest gap in the seal can turn your cabin into a swimming pool. This complete installation kit is designed to make it easy to achieve a watertight fit for your roof lights. 

This "all-in-one" solution guarantees a firm hold and lasting protection against water ingress. Indeed, the tape acts as both a mastic adhesive and a sealant. No more back-and-forth trips to the shop to find the right screws; here you have a pre-formed sealing strip and corrosion-resistant screws.

Tips from the Heode Team for a successful roof light installation

To install your roof light, start by thoroughly degreasing the roof surface around the opening to ensure maximum adhesion. Then apply the butyl mastic strip supplied in the kit directly onto the inner rim of your roof window frame, making sure there are no gaps around the perimeter. Carefully position the roof light in the opening, then secure it using the countersunk stainless steel screws: as you tighten them, the seal will compress evenly to conform to the contours of your bodywork. Finally, for optimal and lasting watertightness, we recommend adding a bead of SikaFlex 710 TX mastic adhesive around the outer perimeter of the roof light.
