Drinking water on board: the solution vanlifers had been waiting for

In a converted van, the quality of the water flowing through the pipes depends entirely on the filling source — and that source changes at every stop along the journey. Public fountain, campsite tap, natural spring: none of them guarantees water free from microbiological contamination. This is precisely the problem Uvoji has solved, by developing miniaturised UV-C reactors capable of disinfecting water in real time, at the point of use.

How it works in a van

The reactor is installed inline on the water circuit, between the pump and the tap. At every flow rate, a stream of UV-C photons passes through the water and inactivates pathogens — legionella, E. coli, cryptosporidium — without altering the taste or pH. The system automatically goes into standby as soon as the tap is closed, consuming less than 1W. On a typical 12V installation, the impact on the vehicle's battery is negligible.

Oji Van or Oji Camp: which one for your project?

The Oji Van, the most compact model in the range (160 × 119 × 111 mm, 0.9 kg), is sized for the standard flow rates of a van — up to 4 L/min, which corresponds exactly to the flow rate of a mobile kitchen tap. The Oji Camp offers a higher flow rate (up to 16 L/min) and is suitable for installations with an integrated shower or two water points. Both models are delivered ready to connect, with fittings and 12V wiring included — no specialist tools required for installation.
