Battery isolator for all engines - Osculati
OSCULATI Battery Isolator - 12V/24V - 140A
Automatic charging of your auxiliary battery in a converted van
Optimise your converted van's energy with the OSCULATI 12V/24V battery isolator. Automatically recharge your auxiliary battery with complete ease and travel without energy constraints.
Why Choose This Battery Isolator for Your Converted Van?
- Automatic dual voltage: operates at 12V and 24V without adjustment.
- Advanced compatibility: works with batteries of different brands and amperages (e.g. 80Ah starter and 120Ah auxiliary), without restriction on Euro 6 engines.
- Intelligent charging: automatically couples your auxiliary battery when the engine battery is charged, and protects it from discharge.
- High capacity: supports 140A continuous and 160A peak.
- No consumption when stationary: does not drain your engine battery when the vehicle is switched off.
- Advanced control (optional): allows manual control via an ignition cable, perfect for EURO 6 vehicles.
How does it work?
You start your van → The isolator detects that your engine battery is fully charged and activates charging of your auxiliary battery.
You switch off the ignition → As soon as the engine battery voltage drops, the isolator disconnects the auxiliary battery to avoid any unnecessary discharge.

Installation and Connections
- Connecting the red cable on a Euro 6 engine: this cable must be connected to an ignition-switched positive, i.e. a cable that is only live when the engine is running.
- Purpose of +APC on an older engine: it can be used without problem, and is recommended if the batteries have different amperages.

FAQ – Answers to Your Questions
Can two batteries of different capacities be connected?
Yes, there is no amperage limit for auxiliary and starter batteries on a Euro 6 engine.
Is it possible to connect a 24V battery bank with a 12V engine battery?
No, there is no system that allows charging a 24V battery from a 12V alternator.
How do I connect the red wired loop on a Euro 6 engine?
The red loop connects to an ignition-switched positive (cable only live when engine is running).
Does 160A correspond to the power of the alternator or the starter battery?
160A corresponds to the maximum current supported by the isolator, with no direct relation to the alternator or battery.
What happens when the alternator stops?
The isolator automatically separates the batteries once fully charged, avoiding any unnecessary discharge.
Is it useful to connect the +APC on an older engine?
Yes, it is even recommended if the batteries have different capacities.
What cable sizes are recommended?
We recommend consulting our detailed guide on Connecting a battery isolator.
Does the isolator pose a risk to my alternator?
No, the alternator is designed to charge the engine and auxiliary battery, provided it is correctly sized.
Never leave your auxiliary battery flat on a road trip again!
