22 m² of Armaflex ChezMoi, guaranteed for 10 years, to insulate your Toyota Proace L2H1
The manufacturer guarantees Armaflex ChezMoi for 10 years: a material you can rely on for long-lasting insulation in a Toyota Proace L2H1. This kit brings together the quantities calculated for the Proace L2H1: 1 roll of 10 mm, 2 rolls of 19 mm, 2 rolls of Tape and 1 Cleaner, with a pair of gloves and a utility knife included free.
Armaflex ChezMoi is an elastomeric foam made in Europe using Armacell technology. Its self-adhesive side sticks directly to cleaned metal bodywork, with no extra glue needed. The closed cells also act as a vapour barrier (μ> 7,000): there is no separate vapour control layer to install, and less condensation on the metal bodywork.
With a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m·K) and an operating range of −50 °C to +85 °C, it insulates against both cold and heat, whether you convert your Proace into a campervan or keep it as a work van. The A+ rating (ISO 16000, VOC-free) and the Microban® antimicrobial treatment integrated into the material matter in a space where you sleep. Its fire performance is assessed to the FMVSS automotive standard, and the manufacturer guarantees the material for 10 years.
Using the kit is straightforward: 10 mm for the floor and pillars, 19 mm for the walls and ceiling, Tape to seal the joints and Cleaner to clean the metal bodywork before installation.
Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm: insulate the walls and ceiling
The 19 mm is the standard thickness for large areas. It provides the most insulation where space allows: the Proace’s side walls, doors and ceiling. The kit contains 2 rolls, covering 12 m².
- Thickness: 19 mm
- Packaging: 6 m² roll (6 m × 1 m)
- Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.035 W/(m·K) at 0 °C
- Vapour barrier: integrated, μ> 7,000
- Operating temperature: −50 °C to +85 °C
- Fire performance: FMVSS automotive standard
- Air quality: A+ rating (ISO 16000), VOC-free
- Antimicrobial treatment: Microban® integrated into the material
- Guarantee: 10 years (manufacturer)

Armaflex ChezMoi 10 mm: insulate the floor and pillars
The 10 mm fits where space is tight: the floor, deep recesses in the reinforcements, wheel arches and pillars. It insulates the metal bodywork while preserving headroom. The kit contains 1 roll, covering 10 m².
- Thickness: 10 mm
- Packaging: 10 m² roll (10 m × 1 m)
- Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.035 W/(m·K) at 0 °C
- Vapour barrier: integrated, μ> 7,000
- Operating temperature: −50 °C to +85 °C
- Fire performance: FMVSS automotive standard
- Air quality: A+ rating (ISO 16000), VOC-free
- Antimicrobial treatment: Microban® integrated into the material
- Guarantee: 10 years (manufacturer)

Tape, Cleaner, gloves and utility knife: preparation, cutting and sealing joints
Tape seals the joints between the sheets to reduce thermal bridging, while Cleaner degreases the metal bodywork to ensure good adhesion. The kit contains 2 rolls of Tape, giving you 30 m of tape, and 1 Cleaner. A pair of gloves and a utility knife are included free for handling and cutting the insulation.
- Tape: 15 m × 50 mm adhesive roll, 2 rolls in the kit
- Cleaner: solvent-based Armaflex cleaner, 1 L bottle, applied with a cloth, 1 in the kit
- Gloves: 1 pair, included free with the kit
- Utility knife: 1, included free with the kit

Compatibility: Toyota Proace L2H1
The kit is sized for the load area of a Toyota Proace L2H1 panel van (Medium length), from 2016 onwards: 2,512 mm long, 1,636 mm wide and 1,397 mm high, with 1,258 mm between the wheel arches. These dimensions are indicative: measure your vehicle before installation, especially if it has already been converted.
Please note: The partition between the load area and the cab is not included in the areas covered by the kit.
The closed cells of Armaflex ChezMoi already act as a vapour barrier, so there is no need for a separate vapour control layer.
The Proace L2H1 shares its bodywork with the Citroën Jumpy M and Peugeot Expert L2H1: see the Citroën Jumpy M and Peugeot Expert L2H1 kits. Other Proace sizes: L1H1 and L3H1.
How do you install the Armaflex ChezMoi kit in a Toyota Proace L2H1?
Armaflex ChezMoi is self-adhesive: it installs without glue, using just a few simple tools, and requires no special skills. Just follow the steps in order. Our blog article on installing Armaflex explains each step in detail.
- Prepare the walls. Identify the areas to insulate. If you plan to fit wooden panelling, install the fixing battens first.
- Clean the walls before installation. Dampen a clean cloth with Cleaner and wipe down all the metal bodywork: it must be clean and degreased for the adhesive to stick. Cleaner contains a solvent and gives off fumes: wear a mask and work outside if possible.
- Mark out. Transfer the dimensions of each area onto the non-adhesive side of the insulation, starting with the floor and pillars (10 mm), then the walls and ceiling (19 mm).
- Cut to size. Put on the gloves included free and cut the sheets to shape with the utility knife in the kit, or with an Armacell knife kit if you prefer. The foam cuts cleanly.
- Stick in place. Peel off the protective film as you go, pressing the sheet onto the metal bodywork from the centre outwards to push out any air.
- Seal the joints. Apply Tape to every join between two sheets to reduce thermal bridging.

Frequently asked questions about insulating a Toyota Proace L2H1
How can I tell if my Proace is an L2H1?
The Proace panel van comes in three lengths (Compact, Medium and Long), all with the same roof height: these correspond to our L1H1, L2H1 and L3H1 sizes. Measure the usable length of the load floor: approximately 2,162 mm for an L1H1, 2,512 mm for an L2H1 and 2,862 mm for an L3H1. The usable height, approximately 1,397 mm, is the same for all three.
Do I need DIY skills to install this kit?
No. The insulation is self-adhesive and can be cut with the utility knife included free in the kit: clean, cut, stick, then seal the joints with Tape. Just follow the six steps in the installation section; the video shows you how.
Do I need to add glue?
No, the self-adhesive side of Armaflex ChezMoi sticks directly to the metal bodywork. Cleaner is only needed to degrease it so the adhesive bonds properly.
Is this kit suitable for a Toyota Proace Verso?
This kit is designed for a panel van Proace being converted into a campervan. The Toyota Proace Verso, a glazed passenger version with an existing interior lining, does not have the same areas to insulate: measure the areas you need to cover before choosing how much Armaflex to buy.
Can I double the thickness for very cold conditions?
Yes, you can apply two layers to exposed areas if you drive in very cold conditions. You will need to add rolls of Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm to the kit.
Armaflex ChezMoi or Armaflex AF: what’s the difference?
Armaflex ChezMoi is the successor to Armaflex AF for vehicle conversions: the same self-adhesive foam, with fire performance assessed to the FMVSS automotive standard. Our article compares the two ranges point by point.
Is there a kit for a Jumpy or Expert of the same size?
Yes: the Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert have their own product pages, with the same quantities. See the Citroën Jumpy M kit and the Peugeot Expert L2H1 kit.
