Spiral hose for wastewater: flexibility and drainage efficiency in a van

Managing grey water in a converted van means dealing with serious size and flexibility constraints. Rigid pipes are not suited to the narrow architecture of a panel van, and wastewater leaks are one of the most frustrating sources of inconvenience on board. The corrugated hose for wastewater solves both problems: its spiral structure allows it to follow the tightest curves without pinching, while its flexible and durable PVC material ensures smooth, reliable drainage of your grey water to the tank.

This type of hose is the essential accessory for connecting your drains (sink, shower, washbasin) to the grey water tank. Its exceptional flexibility makes installation easy even in tight spaces, and its corrugated structure prevents crushing and blockages that could clog your pipework. Sold by the metre, it adapts to every van layout configuration.

How to install a spiral hose for wastewater?

Installation is straightforward and requires no specialist tools. Start by identifying the outlet drain of your sink or shower and measure the distance to your grey water tank. Slide the spiral hose directly onto the drain at the source end, then plan your route with a slight downward slope towards the tank to encourage gravity flow. Secure the hose every 50–60 cm using plastic or stainless steel hose clamps to prevent it from moving during braking or acceleration. At the far end, connect the hose to the tank via a straight or elbow large-shoulder fitting (depending on your layout geometry).

Tip: opt for a gently curved route rather than a sharp right angle — this improves flow and reduces the risk of blockages. If you stack several hoses (grey water + black water), mark them with coloured bands to avoid emptying errors.

Complementary products and accessories

For a complete and watertight wastewater circuit, consider the large-shoulder fittings (straight or elbow), the stainless steel hose clamps, and the grey water tanks in the appropriate capacity. If you are considering a wider drain (for an outdoor shower or a second source), take a look at our spiral hoses 30–38 mm diameter.
