The Carbest CVB50 runs exclusively on 12 V and is aimed at travellers who want a true freezer compartment without sacrificing their electrical autonomy. Once installed, it offers 46 L of usable volume, including a 4.5 L freezer capable of reaching -20°C.

Its distinctive feature lies in its cold accumulators integrated into the walls: the cold generated during operation is stored directly in the sides of the refrigerator, much like an ice pack. As a result, the cold is maintained significantly longer if the battery is disconnected or the compressor stops temporarily — typically overnight.

The Night mode slows the fan and limits the compressor speed for quieter operation during sleep, while Boost mode accelerates cooling after a full shop. The setting is adjusted across 5 levels via a touch control panel, from standard fridge to deep freeze.

⚠️ This fridge runs exclusively on 12 V DC (no 24 V) and must be connected to a dedicated auxiliary battery, never to the vehicle's starter battery or directly to the 230 V mains. Make sure to check your battery capacity before installation — the CVB50 can also be powered by solar energy if your vehicle is equipped.

How to install the CVB50?

The CVB50 is designed for front-access-only installation, in a dedicated cabinet or technical space. The upper compartment acts as the freezer, the lower compartment as the refrigerated section. It is perfectly compatible with the Heode storage column.

Two ventilation methods are possible depending on your layout:

• Top ventilation: minimum cut-out of 383 x 510 x 560 mm (W x D x H)
• Rear grille ventilation: minimum cut-out of 383 x 510 x 535 mm (W x D x H)

Leave sufficient space on the sides and at the rear, and never block the compressor ventilation grille. After transport, leave the unit upright for 2 to 6 hours before switching it on, then wait 4 hours before storing food inside.

Wiring side: cable as short as possible, connected directly to the DC input (no switch or multi-socket), protected by a maximum 15 A fuse. Red wire to battery +, white wire to -. Recommended cable cross-section according to total cable run length:

• 2.5 mm² up to 2.5 m
• 4 mm² up to 4 m
• 6 mm² up to 6 m
• 10 mm² up to 10 m

To protect your battery, the refrigerator automatically cuts out below 10.8 V and restarts at 11.7 V.

VASP standards

The CVB50 holds the ECE R10 approval (electromagnetic compatibility), one of the criteria taken into account in a VASP type-approval file. This approval covers the unit itself: it does not exempt you from having your entire electrical installation (wiring, protection, earthing) checked by a professional or an approved centre to validate the complete file.
