Designed for indoor use, this high-performance, intelligent charger ensures optimum charging of your 12V auxiliary battery, while offering remote monitoring via Bluetooth. Compatible with several types of battery, it can also recover a deeply discharged battery, extending its life.

The built-in charging modes (which can be selected using the mode button on the charger or via the Victron Connect app) and adaptive charging logic are suitable for most battery types: Lead-acid, AGM, GEL and Lithium.

Four integrated charging modes are available: NORMAL (14.4V); HIGH (14.7V); RESET; LI-ION (this one is for Lithium-ion batteries only).

As mentioned above, this charger features a 6-stage adaptive charging algorithm controlled by a microprocessor to intelligently optimise each charging cycle and maintain charge over long periods. The 6 stages are: test, bulk, absorption, refresh, float, storage.

Note that if you have a Lithium-ion battery (not Lithium LiFePO4), the Blue Smart IP22 charger has a specific, simple algorithm: Bulk, Absorption, Float.

A Blue Smart IP22 is equipped with protection against overheating: the output current will be reduced if the temperature reaches 50°C, but it will not fail.

Once the app is installed, you'll be able to monitor voltage and current; change settings and update the charger when new functions become available.

What does the charger do when the battery is not in use?

Quite simply, storage mode is activated when your battery has not been used for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V auxiliary battery) to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised to the absorption level to equalise the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, which are major causes of premature battery ageing.

Sleep soundly by activating the night mode on your Blue Smart IP22 charger

When you select NIGHT or NOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50% of the rated output, so your Blue Smart IP22 battery charger will be completely silent. You won't be disappointed with this mode and will sleep peacefully. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. NOW mode can be switched off manually.
