Designed for indoor use, this high-performance and intelligent charger ensures optimal charging of your 12V auxiliary battery, whilst offering remote monitoring via Bluetooth. Compatible with several battery types, it is also capable of recovering a deeply discharged battery, thus extending its lifespan.

The integrated charging modes (which can be selected using the mode button on the charger or via the Victron Connect app) and adaptive charging logic are suitable for most battery types: flooded lead-acid, AGM, gel (GEL) and lithium.

Four integrated charging modes available: NORMAL (14.4V); HIGH (14.7V); RECONDITION; LI-ION (this is for lithium-ion batteries only).

As mentioned previously, this charger features a microprocessor-controlled 6-stage adaptive charging algorithm to intelligently optimise each charging and long-term float cycle. The 6 stages are: test, bulk, absorption, recondition, float, storage.

Warning, if you have a lithium-ion battery (and not lithium LiFePO4), the Blue Smart IP22 charger has a specific and simple algorithm: Bulk, Absorption, Float.

A Blue Smart IP22 is equipped with overheat protection; the output current will reduce if the temperature reaches 50°C but it will not fail.

Once the app is installed, you will be able to monitor voltage and current; modify settings and update the charger when new features are available.

What does the charger do when the battery is not in use?

Simply put, storage mode activates when your battery has not been used for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V / cell (13.2V for a 12V auxiliary battery) to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised to absorption level to equalise the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, which are major causes of premature battery ageing.

When you select NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50% of the rated output, making your Blue Smart IP22 battery charger completely silent. You will not be disappointed with this mode and will sleep soundly. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be stopped manually.
