Watertight back box with a choice of number of units - DEBFLEX

Waterproof flush-mounted box with 1, 2 or 3 stations depending on your needs. Essential for any electrical installation with a 230V domestic current connection in a converted vehicle. This flush-mounted box guarantees perfect insulation and airtightness, and is suitable for environments requiring increased protection against humidity and air infiltration.
Flush-mounted box for 230V power connection in van
A single, double or triple flush-mounted box is used to secure and protect sockets or switches inside a partition. Leave enough space for the box to be fitted between your insulation and the lining inside your van, so that it doesn't touch your insulation! Your R02-V 3G2.5mm² electrical cable must also be able to pass through.
A flush-mounted box, regardless of the number of positions, is used to protect the conductors from the sheath to the socket or switch mechanism. This ensures a secure connection within your electrical installation.
How do you install an electrical back box?
To install a flush-mounted box in your converted van, first make sure you leave enough space between your insulation and your covering, which may or may not be covered in stretch felt. Before you start, make sure you have a spirit level, a pencil, a 67 mm diameter hole saw and a single or multi-station flush-mounting box.
Step 1: For your own safety, make sure that none of the electrical equipment is switched on (turn off the power at the circuit breaker). Determine the location of the flush-mount box and mark its position with a pencil or marker.
Step 2: Use the hole saw on your drill chuck to drill a hole in your casing for the flush-mounted box.
Step 3: Block an elastomer membrane (for the electrical conduit) in one of the corners of the flush-mounted box. Run your R02-V 3G2.5mm² electrical cable through it.
Step 4: Place the flush-mounted box so that its metal brackets are at the top and bottom when it is positioned, then insert it neatly into your casing. Use a spirit level to check that the flush-mounted box is level with the fixing screws. Then adjust the position of the box if necessary.
Step 5: Once installed, all you have to do is connect the conductors of the R02-V 3G2.5mm² electrical wire to the mechanism of your socket.
A watertight back box protects the electrical conductors connected to a socket or switch from air infiltration and moisture. It also provides a clean, tidy finish by concealing the cable(s) and making it easier to install the equipment.
