Comfort in summer and winter in your Citroën Jumper L1H1: 28 m² of Armaflex ChezMoi

Keep warmth in during winter and limit heat build-up in summer in a Citroën Jumper L1H1: that’s what Armaflex ChezMoi does, insulating the metal against both cold and heat. This kit brings together the quantities calculated for the Jumper L1H1: 1 roll of 10 mm, 3 rolls of 19 mm, 3 rolls of tape and 1 bottle of cleaner, with a pair of gloves and a utility knife included free.

Armaflex ChezMoi is an elastomeric foam made in Europe using Armacell technology. Its self-adhesive side sticks directly to clean metal, with no extra glue needed. The closed cells also act as a vapour barrier (μ> 7 000): there’s no need to install a separate vapour control layer, and there’s less condensation on the metal.

With a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m·K) and an operating range of −50 °C to +85 °C, it insulates against both cold and heat, whether your Jumper becomes a converted van, a work van or a campervan. The A+ rating (ISO 16000, VOC-free) and Microban® antimicrobial treatment integrated into the material matter in a space where you sleep. Its reaction to fire meets the FMVSS automotive standard, and the manufacturer guarantees the material for 10 years.

The kit is straightforward to use: 10 mm insulation for the floor and structural supports, 19 mm for the walls and ceiling, tape to seal the joints and cleaner to clean the metal before installation.

Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm: insulate the walls and ceiling

The 19 mm thickness is the standard choice for large areas. It provides the most insulation where space allows: the Jumper’s side walls, doors and ceiling. The kit contains 3 rolls, covering 18 m².

  • Thickness: 19 mm
  • Pack size: 6 m² roll (6 m × 1 m)
  • Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.035 W/(m·K) at 0 °C

  • Reaction to fire: FMVSS automotive standard
  • Air quality: A+ rating (ISO 16000), VOC-free
  • Antimicrobial treatment: Microban® integrated into the material
  • Warranty: 10 years (manufacturer)

Insulating a van with Armaflex ChezMoi

Armaflex ChezMoi 10 mm: insulate the floor and structural supports

The 10 mm insulation fits where space is tight: the floor, deep reinforcement sections, wheel arches and structural supports. It preserves headroom while insulating the metal. The kit contains 1 roll, covering 10 m².

  • Thickness: 10 mm
  • Pack size: 10 m² roll (10 m × 1 m)
  • Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.035 W/(m·K) at 0 °C
  • Vapour barrier: integrated, μ> 7 000

Cutting a sheet of Armaflex

Tape, cleaner, gloves and utility knife: preparation, cutting and sealing joints

The tape seals the joints between sheets to reduce thermal bridging, while the cleaner degreases the metal for good adhesion. The kit contains 3 rolls of tape, providing 45 m in total, and 1 bottle of cleaner. A pair of gloves and a utility knife are included free for handling and cutting the insulation.

  • Tape: 15 m × 50 mm adhesive roll, 3 rolls in the kit
  • Cleaner: solvent-based Armaflex cleaner, 1 L bottle, applied with a cloth, 1 bottle in the kit
  • Gloves: 1 pair, included free with the kit
  • Utility knife: 1, included free with the kit

Compatibility: Citroën Jumper L1H1

The kit is sized for the load area of a Citroën Jumper L1H1 panel van (from 2006 onwards): 2 670 mm long, 1 870 mm wide and 1 662 mm high, with 1 422 mm between the wheel arches. These dimensions are indicative: measure your vehicle before installation, especially if it has already been converted.

Please note: The partition between the load area and the cab is not included in the kit’s coverage.

The closed cells of Armaflex ChezMoi already act as a vapour barrier, so no separate vapour control layer is needed.

The Jumper L1H1 shares its body with the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer: see the Fiat Ducato L1H1 and Peugeot Boxer L1H1 kits. Other Jumper sizes: L1H2, L2H1, L2H2, L3H2 and L3H3.

How do you install the Armaflex ChezMoi kit in a Citroën Jumper L1H1?

Armaflex ChezMoi is self-adhesive: it can be installed without glue, using a few simple tools, and requires no specialist skills. Just follow the steps in order. Our blog article on installing Armaflex explains each step in detail.

  1. Prepare the walls. Identify the areas to insulate. If you plan to fit wooden lining, install the fixing battens first.
  2. Clean the surfaces before installation. Dampen a clean cloth with cleaner and wipe all the metal: it must be clean and free of grease for the adhesive to stick. The cleaner contains a solvent and gives off fumes: wear a mask and work outdoors if possible.
  3. Mark out the shapes. Transfer the dimensions of each area onto the non-adhesive side of the insulation, starting with the floor and structural supports (10 mm), then the walls and ceiling (19 mm).
  4. Cut to size. Put on the gloves included free and cut the sheets to shape with the utility knife in the kit, or with an Armacell knife kit if you prefer. The foam cuts cleanly.
  5. Stick down. Peel back the protective film as you go, pressing the sheet onto the metal from the centre outwards to remove trapped air.
  6. Seal the joints. Apply the tape over every joint between two sheets to reduce thermal bridging.

Frequently asked questions about insulating a Citroën Jumper L1H1

How can I tell if my Jumper is an L1H1?

The size combines length (L1, L2, L3) and roof height (H1, H2, H3). Measure the usable length of the load floor: approximately 2 670 mm for an L1, 3 120 mm for an L2 and 3 705 mm for an L3. Then measure the interior height: approximately 1 662 mm for an H1, 1 932 mm for an H2 and 2 172 mm for an H3. For an L1H1, expect 2 670 mm by 1 662 mm.

Do I need DIY experience to install this kit?

No. The insulation is self-adhesive and can be cut with the utility knife included free in the kit: clean, cut, stick, then seal the joints with tape. The six steps in the installation section are all you need, and the video shows you how.

Do I need to add glue?

No, the self-adhesive side of Armaflex ChezMoi sticks directly to the metal. The cleaner is used only to degrease it so the adhesive bonds properly.

Is this kit suitable for a motorhome built on a Jumper chassis?

It is designed for an L1H1 Jumper panel van being converted into a campervan. For a fully integrated or coachbuilt motorhome, the living area has different surfaces: measure them before deciding how much Armaflex you need.

Can I double up the insulation for very cold weather?

Yes, you can layer two sheets in exposed areas if you drive in very cold conditions. You’ll need to add rolls of Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm to the kit.

Armaflex ChezMoi or Armaflex AF: what’s the difference?

Armaflex ChezMoi is the successor to Armaflex AF for vehicle conversions: the same self-adhesive foam, with a reaction-to-fire rating under the FMVSS automotive standard. Our article compares the two ranges point by point.

Is there a kit for a Ducato or Boxer of the same size?

Yes: the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer each have their own L1H1 product page. See the Fiat Ducato L1H1 kit and the Peugeot Boxer L1H1 kit.

Complete the insulation and finish of your Citroën Jumper L1H1

This kit insulates the metal in one go. To go further with fibrous materials, explore our campervan insulation kits.

For the floor, add a layer of 4 mm cork underlay on a roll beneath your floor covering: it reduces the feeling of a cold floor and reduces vibrations and road noise. Explore the full cork insulation range.

For lining your Citroën Jumper L1H1, Heode offers side wall lining and non-slip floor lining to fit over the insulation. They are designed for vehicles with a sliding side door on the right and hinged rear doors.

For the wall finish, start with a stretch carpet sample: you can choose the colour (light grey, dark grey, anthracite, black or beige) in your van before ordering the van lining carpet.
