Everything you need to insulate a Citroën Jumper L3H2: 34 m² of Armaflex ChezMoi, Tape and Cleaner

One kit to insulate a Citroën Jumper L3H2 for conversion into a campervan: Armaflex ChezMoi, Tape for the joints and Cleaner to prepare the metalwork are all included in quantities calculated for the Jumper L3H2. The kit contains 1 roll of 10 mm insulation, 4 rolls of 19 mm insulation, 4 rolls of Tape and 1 bottle of Cleaner, plus a free pair of gloves and utility knife. Order everything at once, with no other products to add.

Armaflex ChezMoi is an elastomeric foam made in Europe using Armacell technology. Its self-adhesive side sticks directly to clean metalwork, with no extra glue needed. The closed cells also act as a vapour barrier (μ> 7,000): there’s no need to install a separate vapour control layer, and less condensation forms on the metalwork.

With a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m·K) and a service temperature range of −50 °C to +85 °C, it insulates against both cold and heat, whether you turn your Jumper into a campervan, a work van or a motorhome. The A+ rating (ISO 16000, VOC-free) and Microban® antimicrobial treatment integrated into the material matter in a space where you sleep. Its reaction to fire meets the automotive FMVSS standard, and the manufacturer guarantees the material for 10 years.

The kit is straightforward to use: 10 mm insulation for the floor and pillars, 19 mm insulation for the walls and ceiling, Tape to seal the joints and Cleaner to clean the metalwork before installation.

Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm: insulate the walls and ceiling

The 19 mm insulation is the standard thickness for large surfaces. It provides the most insulation where space allows: the Jumper’s side walls, doors and ceiling. The kit contains 4 rolls, covering 24 m².

  • Thickness: 19 mm
  • Pack size: 6 m² roll (6 m × 1 m)
  • Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.035 W/(m·K) at 0 °C

Tape, Cleaner, gloves and utility knife: preparation, cutting and sealing joints

Tape seals the joints between sheets to limit thermal bridging, while Cleaner degreases the metalwork for good adhesion. The kit contains 4 rolls of Tape, providing 60 m of tape, and 1 bottle of Cleaner. A pair of gloves and a utility knife are included free for handling and cutting the insulation.

  • Tape: 15 m × 50 mm adhesive roll, 4 rolls in the kit
  • Cleaner: solvent-based Armaflex cleaner, 1 L bottle, applied with a cloth; 1 bottle in the kit
  • Gloves: 1 pair, included free with the kit
  • Utility knife: 1, included free with the kit

Compatibility: Citroën Jumper L3H2

The kit is sized for the load area of a Citroën Jumper L3H2 panel van (from 2006 onwards): 3,705 mm long, 1,870 mm wide and 1,932 mm high, with 1,422 mm between the wheel arches. These measurements are indicative: measure your vehicle before installation, especially if it has already been converted.

Please note: The partition separating the cab is not included in the kit’s coverage area.

The closed cells of Armaflex ChezMoi already act as a vapour barrier, so there’s no need for a separate vapour control layer.

The L3H2 Jumper shares its bodywork with the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer: see the Fiat Ducato L3H2 and Peugeot Boxer L3H2 kits. Other Jumper sizes: L1H1, L1H2, L2H1, L2H2 and L3H3.

How do I install the Armaflex ChezMoi kit in a Citroën Jumper L3H2?

Armaflex ChezMoi is self-adhesive: it can be installed without glue, using a few simple tools, and requires no special skills. Just follow the steps in order. Our blog article on installing Armaflex explains each step in detail.

  1. Prepare the walls. Identify the areas to insulate. If you plan to add wooden panelling, install the fixing battens first.
  2. Clean the walls before installation. Dampen a clean cloth with Cleaner and wipe down all the metalwork: it must be clean and free of grease for the adhesive to bond. Cleaner contains a solvent and gives off fumes: wear a mask and work outdoors if possible.
  3. Mark out the pieces. Transfer the dimensions of each area onto the non-adhesive side of the insulation, starting with the floor and pillars (10 mm), then the walls and ceiling (19 mm).
  4. Cut to size. Put on the included gloves and cut the sheets to shape using the kit’s utility knife, or an Armacell knife kit if you prefer. The foam cuts cleanly.
  5. Stick in place. Peel off the protective film as you go, pressing the sheet onto the metalwork from the centre outwards to push out any air.
  6. Seal the joints. Apply Tape to every joint between two sheets to limit thermal bridging.

Frequently asked questions about insulating a Citroën Jumper L3H2

How can I tell if my Jumper is an L3H2?

The size combines length (L1, L2, L3) and roof height (H1, H2, H3). Measure the usable load-floor length: approximately 2,670 mm for an L1, 3,120 mm for an L2 and 3,705 mm for an L3. Then measure the interior roof height: approximately 1,662 mm for an H1, 1,932 mm for an H2 and 2,172 mm for an H3. An L3H2 measures approximately 3,705 mm by 1,932 mm.

Do I need DIY skills to install this kit?

No. The insulation is self-adhesive and can be cut with the utility knife included free in the kit: clean, cut, stick, then seal the joints with Tape. Just follow the six steps in the installation section; the video shows you how.

Do I need to add glue?

No, the self-adhesive side of Armaflex ChezMoi sticks directly to the metalwork. Cleaner is only needed to degrease the metal so the adhesive bonds well.

Is this kit suitable for a motorhome built on a Jumper?

It is designed for an L3H2 Jumper panel van being converted into a campervan. For a fully integrated or coachbuilt motorhome, the living area has different surfaces: measure them before choosing how much Armaflex you need.

Can I double the thickness for very cold conditions?

Yes, you can layer two sheets in exposed areas if you drive in very cold conditions. You’ll need to add rolls of Armaflex ChezMoi 19 mm to the kit.

Armaflex ChezMoi or Armaflex AF: what’s the difference?

Armaflex ChezMoi is the successor to Armaflex AF for vehicle conversions: the same self-adhesive foam, with a fire reaction rating under the automotive FMVSS standard. Our article compares the two ranges point by point.

Is there a kit for the same-size Ducato or Boxer?

Yes: the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer each have their own L3H2 product page. See the Fiat Ducato L3H2 kit and the Peugeot Boxer L3H2 kit.

Complete the insulation and interior finish of your Citroën Jumper L3H2

This kit insulates all the metalwork in one go. If you want to go further with fibrous materials, explore our campervan insulation kits.

For the floor, add a 4 mm cork underlay roll beneath your flooring: it reduces the feeling of a cold floor and reduces vibrations and road noise. Explore the full cork insulation range.

For the wall finish, start with a stretch carpet lining sample: you can choose the colour (light grey, dark grey, anthracite, black or beige) inside your van before ordering the campervan carpet lining.
