Fibreglass panel for Volkswagen Transporter T5 right rear swing door

Equipping your vehicle with an opaque fibreglass panel is possible!

This black fibreglass plate is specifically designed to be fitted on the right rear swing door of your Volkswagen T5. Completely opaque, it features an opening allowing the installation of a right sliding window 457 x 382 mm with mosquito net (product sold separately on our website).

How to fit a fibreglass panel on your vehicle?

Step 1: Cut the metal sheet of your vehicle to allow the placement of your fibreglass right swing door panel.

Step 2: Apply Frameto Rust Prevention on the metal sheet perimeter of this opening as a preventive treatment. Leave to dry, then install a reinforced seal for 6 to 8 mm double sheet metal, essential for protecting the sheet metal edge which can be sharp and achieving a professional finish.

Step 3: Neatly apply a bead of adhesive sealant (shown as a continuous yellow line in the image just below) around the perimeter of the interior face of the fibreglass panel.

Step 4: Place the fibreglass panel directly on the metal sheet of your vehicle in the designated location. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a dry, sheltered place.

Step 5: Install the right sliding window 457 x 382 mm with mosquito net in the opening, in the centre of the fibreglass panel, using the professional adhesive sealant kit. Be careful not to apply sealant at the window's rainwater drainage outlets. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a sheltered, dry location.

Step 6 (optional): Once everything is fitted, create a wooden trim on which felt covering can be applied for an optimal interior finish!
