Worried about insulating your van yourself? This kit is designed so that anyone can do it, even a complete beginner! How do we do it? It's simple: we've calculated the right quantities for your L2H1 and selected products that are ultra-simple to install, even including a small margin in case of error.

The first stage will involve clean thoroughly all the walls of your van with Armaflex solvent-free cleaner. Designed by Armacell, this cleaner is less polluting because it contains no solvents or antifreeze. It effectively removes traces of grease, rust and other dirt, which are essential for ensuring that insulation adheres properly !

For this kit, we have opted for Métisse RT panels, which are much more durable and easier to clean easy to handle than rolls, which also limits the number of cuts. Flexible and lightweight, it cuts effortlessly with simple knives with smooth or corrugated blades. The big plus: no toxic emissions (A+ rated) for risk-free installation. And the little extra? It doesn't scratch! This makes all the difference.

Can Métisse RT be installed over sprayed cork ?

Yes, absolutely! Métisse RT is an excellent complement to sprayed cork. These two materials can be combined for optimum insulation. Spray cork provides an initial thermal and anti-condensation barrier, while Métisse RT improves thermal and sound insulation. Just make sure the sprayed cork is smooth and leave to dry for at least 24 hours before laying Métisse RT.

Is a vapour barrier essential with Métisse RT? Why not a vapour barrier ?

Yes, the vapour barrier is crucial with Métisse RT, as it is with most fibrous insulation materials. Métisse RT is breathable: it lets water vapour through. The vapour brake regulates this passage and prevents condensation in the insulation and on the sheet metal, which in turn prevents degradation of the insulation and corrosion.

Can I opt for a vapour barrier instead of a vapour brake ?

A vapour barrier is completely impermeable to water vapour. In a van, where variations in temperature and humidity are frequent, a vapour barrier could trap moisture in the Métisse RT structure, which would be counter-productive. The vapour barrier, on the other hand, has controlled permeability (hygrovariable). It allows any moisture to escape from the insulation, while limiting the entry of moisture from inside the van. This is the best solution for healthy, long-lasting insulation, especially with natural fibre insulation like Métisse RT.

Is this ecological insulation kit suitable for my large van ?
