Double fibreglass panel for Mercedes Sprinter swing doors - From 2018

Fitting your commercial vehicle with a pair of opaque fibreglass panels is possible!

These black fibreglass panels are specifically designed to be fitted on the rear swing doors (left | right) of your Mercedes Sprinter. Fully opaque, they each have an opening allowing the installation of a 457 x 382 mm sliding window with mosquito net.

How to fit fibreglass panels on your commercial vehicle?

Step 1: Cut the metal of your commercial vehicle to allow positioning of your fibreglass panels on your swing doors (left | right).

Step 2: Apply Frameto Rust Inhibitor to the metal edge around the 2 existing openings for preventive treatment. Leave to dry, then install a reinforced seal for 6 to 8 mm double metal, essential to protect the metal edge which can be sharp and achieve a professional finish.

Step 3: Apply a neat bead of adhesive sealant (shown by a continuous yellow line on the image just below) around the perimeter of the interior face of each fibreglass panel. For information: 1 professional adhesive sealant kit is normally sufficient to apply 1 bead on each of the 2 panels.

Step 4: Fit the fibreglass panels directly onto the metal of your commercial vehicle, each in their respective position. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a dry, sheltered location.

Step 5: Install a 457 x 382 mm sliding window with mosquito net in the opening, located in the centre of each fibreglass panel, using a professional adhesive sealant kit. Allow for 2 professional adhesive sealant kits, i.e. 1 for each window. Warning, do not apply sealant to the rainwater drainage outlets of the windows. Leave to dry for 24 hours in a sheltered, dry area.

Step 6 (optional): Once everything is fitted, create 2 wooden trims on which felt covering can be applied to achieve an optimal interior finish!
