How do you install the Vent 40F Crystal rooflight with blind and flyscreen?

• Choose the right version: measure the total roof thickness at the planned installation point, including the sheet metal, insulation and lining.
• Cut the opening: mark out a 400 x 400 mm opening between two roof crossmembers, then cut it with a jigsaw or nibbler.
• Protect the sheet metal: deburr the cut edge and treat it with Frameto rust treatment.
• Ensure a watertight seal: degrease the installation area and apply a continuous seal beneath the outer frame. The rooflight fitting kit includes butyl tape and stainless steel screws; check the Fiamma instructions for the recommended screw length for your chosen version.
• Secure it: position the rooflight, then tighten the screws on the inner frame gradually in a criss-cross pattern. Do not overtighten them, as this could distort the frame.
• Finish: a bead of Sikaflex 521 UV around the outer frame adds a second barrier against leaks.
